For those who aren't familiar with this popular art form, en plein air is a French expression that means "in open air," and is used to describe the act of painting outdoors. The public can observe artists painting at picturesque sites located throughout Palm Beach and Martin counties, participate in demos or workshops where they will have the unique opportunity to learn from the most highly-regarded plein air artists in the country, and later return to the Lighthouse ArtCenter Gallery to view and purchase the brand-new, wet paintings - perhaps on Friday's VIP, ticketed Collectors' Party!

Our 7th Annual Plein Air Festival is a non-stop, week-long festival packed with exciting events and opportunities to learn the art of plein air, participate in sharing your own plein air art with the world, watch top artists compete for over $15,000 in cash and prizes, and collect beautiful, one-of-a-kind artwork.
